January 6th is publication day for the Hardback edition of Opal Country in the UK and Ireland. Yee hah!!
Opal Country is the same book as Treasure & Dirt – just a different title for different territories – so don’t go out and buy both.
It’s already getting a good reception in the UK. The Times has selected it as Crime Book of the Month, with reviewer Mark Sanderson stating “This novel – tighter, tougher, tenser – is Hammer’s best work yet’.
It’s a star book and the pick of the month for Liz Robinson at LoveReadingUK,. ‘A fierce and fiery beast of a novel (that) delivers an absolutely cracking slice of crime fiction.’
And the great Ann Cleeves – author of the Shetland and Vera Stanhope novels – says: ‘Classic Hammer, with the heat and the small town obsession with secrecy and past grievances. A crime novel that will stay with me for a long time.’
A huge thanks to Wildfire Books, who have done the most fantastic job in designing, promoting and selling the book in the UK. And thanks, as always, to my principal publisher, Allen and Unwin in Australia.
