Book of the Month

Publication day!!

The hardback of ‘Dead Man’s Creek’ is in UK and European bookstores from January the 5th.
And talk about perfect timing – The London Times has named it Crime Book of the Month, together with an extraordinary review from critic Mark Sanderson…

“This fantastic crime drama has three timelines: 1943, when Italian prisoners of war are at work in the Barmah-Millewa forest; 1973, when 15-year-old Tessa Waters falls for beautiful Tycho Buchanan; and the present, when the air is thick with chickens coming home to roost. As the three narratives dovetail seamlessly the tension escalates.

“Chris Hammer has surpassed himself in Dead Man’s Creek. It is constantly intriguing, shocking and moving….  I doubt I’ll read a better novel this year.

Thanks Mark – and thanks to the wonderful team at Wildfire Books!
(note: Dead Man’s Creek is published in Australia and New Zealand as The Tilt).
