So Silver didn’t win the ABIA general fiction award – that went to Bruny by the wonderful Heather Rose (we share the same publishers) – a thoroughly deserving winner. Bruny is a great read, part thriller, part family saga, part political satire.
Now Silver has been longlisted for the Australian Booksellers’ Association’s Booksellers’ Choice Award for adult fiction book of the year. As you can see, it’s again among some very impressive company. If you are looking for an iso read, there really are so many good Australian books to choose from – this list is a good place to start.
And please remember to support your local bookstore. They are such an important part of the Australian literary eco-system, connecting authors and publishers with readers. They’ve been doing it tough during lockdown, but most are open, including click and collect options or pickup. And with such huge delays in the mail, the local option is even more attractive!
