This is a great compliment – The Tilt is shortlisted for the Australian Book Industry Awards for 2023 in the General Fiction category.
I love that the ABIAs have two fiction categories – Literary and General. This allows for recognition of popular books – the ones readers love – that are often excluded from literary awards.
I’m very proud of The Tilt and that is in such good company. It says something about the strength of crime fiction in Australia right now – and particularly rural crime – that all five shortlisted books are crime books set in regional areas.
Congratulations to my fellow nominees – Garry Disher, Jane Harper, Hayley Scrivenor and Benjamin Stevenson. They’re all such good books!
I’m looking forward to the awards night in May – even if The Tilt doesn’t win. It’s such a good celebration of the local industry, particularly after those years when Covid forced the awards online.
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported my books and writing!
